Last updated: March 31, 2025
1. Overview
Budgetero ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those services. Apple users may opt to hide their email address, in which case we receive an Apple-generated relay address.
Financial data: When you connect a bank account via Plaid, we retrieve account names, balances, and transaction history from your financial institutions. This data is fetched on your behalf and stored securely in your account.
Usage data: We collect basic information about how you use the App, such as features accessed and sync activity, to improve the service. This data is not sold or used for advertising profiling.
Device and notification data: If you enable push notifications, we collect a device push token via Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver transaction and account alerts.
Biometric data: If you enable Face ID sign-in, your credentials are stored locally in the iOS Secure Enclave (Keychain) on your device. We never transmit or store biometric data on our servers.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your financial data for advertising purposes.
4. Advertising
Free tier users may see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and general usage signals to serve relevant ads, subject to your device's ad tracking settings (ATT). You can limit ad tracking in your iPhone's Privacy settings under "Tracking." Premium subscribers do not see ads.

7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and short-lived access tokens with rotating refresh tokens to protect your data. Financial institution credentials are handled exclusively by Plaid and are never transmitted to our servers.
8. Children's Privacy
Budgetero is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
